Free class - East Coast Swing

Swing - The origins of this dance date back to 1920, with 100s of variations developed throughout time. A free rhythmic interpretation is characteristic to Swing, using single, double or triple rhythms. A relaxed shuffling movement and the use of upper body sway is also used to highlight the Swing. East Coast Swing has very simple structure and footwork along with basic moves and styling. It is popular for its simple nature and is often danced to slow, medium, or fast tempo jazz, blues, or rock and roll. West Coast Swing it is a slotted dance and is done to a wide variety of music including: blues, rock and roll, country western, pop, hip hop, smooth, cool jazz, R& B, and funk music.
